Traducción.
Creo que este tipo de frases deberían traducirse con el "imperfecto" :
"Si no nos apetecía, nos pasábamos horas sin hablar."
"Si llovía caminaba por las calles sin paraguas."
"Si estaba triste, simplemete contemplaba la distancia sin decir ni una palabra."
Además, podría sustituirse "si" por "cuando".
