Present continuous for present habits

At six I'm walking the dog.
Whenever I get home, my dog is sleeping in the armchair.

If not a specific point but a specific period is implied, it can be expressed with a time expression or a clause in the present continuous.

I'm walking between 5 and 6.
While I'm walking the dog, my wife is cooking dinner.
